early sculpture

My first foray into sculpting began in my teens, even younger, when at the side of my dad working around the house, I would use his scraps of wood to make stuff. He was a carpenter. I became a carpenter. Later I bought clay and a kiln & tried to make a wheel. And later I discovered David Smith and steel, Picasso and cardboard. I was fascinated by creating malleable objects. That is, I enjoyed making stuff.
